The Huron Residential Hospice will soon be undergoing a name change.

The hospice announced on Saturday that they have received a donation of $500,000 from David and Susan Bender.

In a news release, the Benders say the donation is because of the experiences their family and friends have had with the hospice.

The donation put the hospice’s fundraising campaign to $1.5 Million, $100,000 shy of their goal of $1.6 Million.

$750,000 comes from public donations.

In recognition of the donation, the Board of Directors at the hospice has agreed to change the name of the hospice to Huron Hospice Bender House.
