Huron-Kinloss has added a new street cleaner to its fleet.

Made possible from contributions by the Near Term Investment Fund in partnership with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, the purchase represents a strategic investment in enhancing the community’s cleanliness and maintenance.

After the breakdown of the previous street sweeper, a 1995 Johnston mechanical model, staff began work to find the most suitable replacement options, ending up with the Scarab Maven 65 Street Sweeper.

John Yungblut, Director of Public Works says while mechanical sweepers are typically limited to specific cleaning tasks and seasonal use, the Maven 65’s design includes a vacuum hose and pressure washer hand, allowing for a wide range of tasks.
