Huron OPP investigating Child Offered Ride by Person in Crediton

Around 4pm middle grade elementary student was offered a ride from unfamiliar vehicle passenger. They wisely declined and the vehicle left the area.

Huron County OPP is currently investigating a suspicious persons incident that took place yesterday afternoon in Crediton.

Officers received a report that around 4pm a middle grade elementary student was waiting at the front of his home for a ride by a family members when an unfamiliar vehicle pulled up and the passenger asked the child if he was hitchhiking and needed a ride.

The child wisely declined and it continued westbound on Victoria Avenue before it turned around and drove eastbound out of the area.

The vehicle of interest is described as a blue SUV or a large car with four doors.

Passenger is described as a white male, slim to medium build with several tattoos on his arms. A description of the driver was not obtained.
