Huron Women’s Shelter Getting Provincial Support

The Huron Women’s Shelter is among those getting a boost from the province.

Ontario government is putting more than $45 million through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to support 140 non profit groups, Indigenous communities and small municipalities across the province to expand and improve their programs and services.

The womens shelter is receiving a $599,700 Grow grant over three years to bring in innovative housing models to provide relationship centered approaches to support women and children impacted by gender based violence.

Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming says whether its helping keep seniors active or learn new skills or connecting young people to arts, non profit organizations across Ontario deliver programs and services that make a real difference in peoples lives.
