Saugeen First Nation has been approved for the creation of an Indigenous Primary Health Care Team for the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

Inter professional primary care teams help provide direct care and help connect people to care without needing to visit emergency rooms or experience long wait times.

Chief Conrad Ritchie in a release says this is something that will better meet the needs of community members.

The creation of the care team aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen primary health care as the foundation of the health care system in the province.
