The province is investing $242,796.09 over the next two year in Bruce County for public safety and supporting the mobile crisis response team led by South Bruce OPP.
The funding will allow police to work with trained crisis workers and provide support needed when interacting with people who are experiencing a mental health related crisis.
MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson says this investment will help ensure people in crisis receive the right support at the right time.
For 2025-26 and 2026-27, 36 police services and OPP detachments will receive around $9 million through the Mobile Crisis Response Team Enhancement Grant to increase capacity of the mobile crisis response teams across the province.
