The Municipality of Kincardine approved a Bruce Power Water Supply Agreement at Wednesday’s Council Meeting.

It will see Bruce Power receive its drinking water from the Municipal system, and the sharing of costs when it comes to required studies, approvals and capital costs of system expansion and extension to make it happen.

Phase 1 of the project will include completion of an Environmental Assessment, and conceptional design including the location of a primary booster pumping station.

Phase 2 will include finalizing of drawing, facilitating the tender of the work and an all-in cost estimate.

Phase 3 and 4 will be awarding of construction contracts, and finally the operational phase.

Bruce Power will pay a fixed and variable fee for its water service.

It will be set by the usual municipal by-law process.

Full details of the agreement are available at the Municipal website at the link below.
