Just 2 weeks to Christmas Day, the Kincardine Fire Department are urging residents to make sure they enjoy Christmas as safe as possible.
Things as simple as paying attention to your cooking and clearing snow around fire hydrants and vents to your home.
Dan Austin with the Kincardine Fire Department makes note of things which could go unnoticed over Christmas for safety, including new gifts for your kids.
“A lot of the new toys for young ones these days have lithium ion batteries and with anything with a batter you have to careful they don’t overheat. When you’re storing them don’t just throw them back in a bag of wrapping paper. It’s good to make sure things are turned off and cool before they are put in storage.” said Austin.
Last weeks winter storm proved the risks with OPP across the West Region responding to 162 crashes over 26 hours.
