Stage Three of the Kincardine Hospital redevelopment will proceed.

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre announced on Tuesday that they received approval from the Ministry of Health.

In a news release, the third stage of the capital project sees the majority of the building design including the development of architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical and landscape drawings, and the functional program that was developed in Stage 2 be translated into a two-dimensional design format.

The hospital redevelopment project will see an expansion and modernization of the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Decontamination Room, Lobby, and Back of House.

President and CEO Michael Barrett says this is a major milestone and a significant step forward in the redevelopment of the hospital.

He says it is an exciting time for health care in Kincardine and surrounding communities.
