The municipality of Kincardine is setting out the needs when it comes to diverse housing.

In a statement, the municipality says Kincardine is carefully growing and steadily as its expected the population will increase from just over 12,000 to more than 15,000 by 2046.

This would mean 900 new homes are needed to meet that demand but most of the housing stock is single detached homes, limiting affordability and choice.

The municipality has listed 10 reasons as to why diverse housing matters and is needed which includes attracting new talent, welcoming young people to stay, make housing more affordable and help seniors stay local.
