Kincardine Mayor Glover Issues Updated Statement On Investigation

Statement advises opens open to council following presentation fo report including a reprimand or suspension of the remuneration paid to the member in respect to their service as a member of Councl for a period of up to 90 days.

The Municipality of Kincardine Mayor Gerry Glover issued an updated statement in regards to the Active Investigation by the Integrity Commission.

In the statement he says that in consulation with the Commissioner, an expedited investigation has commenced. Adding it’s at the preliminary state.

Following the conclusion of the investigative review, the sequence of events and facts associated with the April 4th meeting will be presented in an open public meeting of Council.

He adds that the further information provided in the statement is to provide awareness of the authority of Councils under the Municipals Act 2001. It is the act that governs the creation, administration and government of municipalities in Ontario

The Integrity Commissioner will present a report to Council in open session regarding the findings of the inquiry and recommendations.

Upon hearing the report Council may impose either of the penalities of a reprimand or suspension of the remuneration paid to the member in respect to his or her service as a member of Council for a period of up to 90 days.

Cuyler would issue his own statement apologizing for his behaviour at the meeting claiming the comments were directed more towards himself and not at anyone inside the room.
