Kincardine set to mark Truth & Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day Sept. 30th

Municipality is offering a learning circle entitled "7 Grandfather Teachings "with the help of Elder Shirley Johns on Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Municipal Administration Centre.

The Municipality of Kincardine is set to mark the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day on September 30th as part of their commitment to acts that create pathways towards reconciliation with First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.

As part of this journey the Municipality is offering a variety of learning circles throughout the year with the next on Wednesday, September 13th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Municipal Administration Centre.

The event will connect participants to the 7 Grandfather Teachings with the help of Elder Shirley Johns.

Joining her will be Diane Giroux, Giiwe Coordinator at the M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre.
