The 12 kilometer Kincardine to Inverhuron Provincial Park Trail is set to be completed this summer, after almost a decade of planning. The Kincardine Trails Association, formed in 2001 has led the project as a Municipal Committee of Council since their first meeting with Bruce County in October 2012.

The KIPP trail will be a multi-use paved trail extending from the north edge of the town of Kincardine to Kinhuron Road, along the west side of Bruce Road 23.

By connecting the town of Kincardine and Inverhuron Provincial Park the trail will close the existing gap in and become part of the 3,1000 km Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.

The Society of United Professionals donated approximately $238,000 to the project, forming it’s initial seed funding.

Last year the Municipality received an Infrastructure Canada Grant of nearly $800,000 to complete the KIPP trail.
