With Legions across the country set for their annual Poppy Campaign, residents are being reminded to be aware of scammers trying to capitalize on the fund.
The poppy fund does not operate on a phone basis and no Legion will ever call you asking for a donation to the campaign.
Those who do receive a call are simply asked to hang up and not donate.
The Poppy Campaign runs on the last Friday of October to November 11th collecting donations to support veterans and their families within each community.
