Bruce Power has made a $10,000 contribution to a local foundation searching for a cure to a rare disease.

The company made the donation to the Liv-a-Little Foundation, which was started in honour of Port Elgin’s Olivia Little, who was born with the rare disease Cystinosis.

The metabolic disease impacts only about 2,000 people worldwide.

Olivia’s family started the foundation back in 2013 to help raise money to research a cure.

Each August, the foundation carries out its Paint the Town Purple campaign in Saugeen Shores, to promote awareness of this rare disease.
