Opposition MPs in our area are taking exception to last week’s federal budget by the minority Liberal government.

Huron Bruce MPP Ben Lobb tells the Shoreline Classics that the budget offers nothing meaningful for residents of his riding.

Lobb says while there is more money being put into the armed forces, it is still lacking behind other countries.

Lobb says the establishment of universal dental care will help families who don’t have dental insurance.

But he says a suspension on the carbon tax and a HST holiday on gas and home heating fuel would have been more beneficial to Canadians.

Lobb says even though there is more money in the budget to address the housing supply, it doesn’t address the labour shortage in Canada as there are not enough skilled workers to help construct these homes.
