There is a local contingent taking part in the so-called freedom convoy across Canada.

The convoy is expected to have trucks from the Walkerton (Little Rock Farm Trucking) and Paisley (Intermodal Heritage Freightlines) areas as well as some from Grey and Huron counties.

They are expected to leave Owen Sound Friday morning at 9 from the MTO pull off.

The trucks will travel through Chatsworth, Flesherton, Shelburne, and Orangeville before meeting up with other trucks that are coming up from Windsor and Sarnia.

The trucks will then head east on the 401 towards Ottawa.

OPP are warning motorists who are planning to travel along the proposed route to expect delays.

A number of transport trucks are travelling across Canada in protest of the federal vaccine mandate for truck drivers who cross the border.
