Stratford’s economic region saw the jobless rate drop to 2.7 per cent last month, the lowest in nearly three years.
The region which covers, Perth, Huron, Bruce and Grey Counties shows the unemployment rate is the lowest in the province and continues to highlight the region’s need for more workers.
Around 2100 jobs were lost locally in September which included 900 full time positions according to the latest labour force survey from Statistics Canada.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board has launched a survey to look into the lack of workers in the area, open to those who recently left the labour force.
The survey is available until Oct. 15 with data to be used in a January report.
More information is available from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board website.
