The Municipality of Kincardine has closed several facilities due to today’s weather.

The closures include the Municipal Administration Centre, the Tiverton and District Sports Centre, the Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services Administration Office, Bruce Township Community Centre and the Waste Management Centre.

The Kincardine branch of the Bruce County Library won’t be open today either.

The Davidson Centre is still operating but all morning programming is cancelled including pool and fitness classes.

The MacDonald Municipal Drain Meeting that was scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning in Underwood is cancelled and will be re-scheduled for a later date.

The Special Meeting of Council scheduled for 10 a.m. will continue virtually instead of in-person. The agenda for this meeting is available online.

Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling has cancelled services today. Those affected will have pick-up rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 6.

The Kincardine and Ripley YMCA childcare and PD day camps are also closed today.

Many businesses aren’t opening today either due to the storm, including The Playful Piper and Harbour Rose Boutique. The Kincardine Clothes Hamper won’t be collecting donations, as they’ll also be closed. Let us know if you’re still open here.

The town says staff will continue to assess weather conditions throughout the day and will make decisions about programming and the opening of facilities when it is safe to do so.
