A Lucknow resident is preparing to cycle 8,700 km from Jordan River, BC to Saint John’s, NL to raise money for the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation.
57-year-old Jurjen Weerman is preparing to undertake the trip on May 27th with 2 friends from Victoria, BC.
He picked up cycling in 2020 and has undertaken longer trips recently as practice, including 158 km round trip from Lucknow to Seaforth, a 2-day 300 km round trip to Guelph and 5 days and 680 km to Peterborough and back.
The three cyclists expect to complete the fundraising trip in August.
