Residents of Malcolm Place Retirement Residence in Kincardine were caught off guard today when they received notice from the Facility that it had been sold and was set to close on July 8th.

In the distributed letter as viewed by Shoreline Classics it says that all in-house services would cease on June 8th including pharmacy, administration of meds, nursing, bathing and dressing assistance, continence care, assistance with personal hygiene and ambulation and provision of meals.

The letter than adds that the residence will cease to operate as a retirement residence as of July 8th, 2022.

The facility ends the notice by saying anyone who wishes to remain at Malcom Place after June 8th would be required to contact external service providers.

Shoreline Classics spoke with one relative of a resident and they advised they were not given any guidance as to where they could turn to find accomodations and care for their relative following the date of closure.
