Organizers of the Huron County Plowing Match are excited to have the 2022 event on this summer.

It is taking place on the field of Brian and Annette Mackenzie on St. Helen’s Line in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh August 18th and 19th.

The event is being co-hosted by Mayor Glen McNeil and says this event is important in getting youth into farming.

There is a junior day with the junior plowing competitions followed by the Princess competition and the 4-H sodbusters achievement day.

Day two will feature the Queen of the Furrow day and senior competitions along with silent auction and displays.

McNeil says competitors who do well at the Huron County Plowing Match often move on to the International Plowing Match which will take place this year in North Grenville (outside of Ottawa).
