MPP Walker announces $3.6 Million in Funding Through Skills Development Fund

MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Bill Walker announced that the Provincial Government is investing a total of nearly $3.7 million dollars in two projects through the Sills Development Fund.

The organizations receiving the funding are the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium of Canada with just over $2.8 million and the Owen Sound Family YMCA at $788,340.

EMC is proposing Expanding Skills & Paths to Employment for Youth in Advanced Manfacturing, specifically to address the industry needs & demands for increasing the future supply to the manufacturing workforce and enabling an Ontario-wide access to new skills, micro-credentials, trades and on-the-job experience for youth.

The Owen Sound Family YMCA are set to coordinate and support the training of 22 Incumbents and 22 Job seekers through Personal Support Worker training.
