Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker announced that long-term care homes in the Region would be receiving a combined just over $7.2 million dollars in funding for more staff.
As part of the Province’s plan to fix long-term care, he says they will be providing than $673 million more this year to homes across the province to increase staffing leavels, leading to more direct care fore residents.
This is part of the province committing to ensure long term care residents receive, on average, four hours of direct care by 2024-25.
The increase of funding to homes include:
- $872,136 to Gateway Haven Home for the Aged, in Wiarton
- $575,616 to Grey Gables Home for Aged, in Markdale
- $1,308,204 to Lee Manor in Owen Sound
- $872,136 to Rockwood Terrace, in Durham
- $270,360 to Parkview Manor, in Chesley
- $235,476 to Country Lane Long Term Care Residence, in Chatsworth
- $462,240 to The Village Seniors Community, in Hanover
- $549,444 to Meaford Long Term Care
- $863,424 to Versa Care Centre, Summit Place, in Owen Sound
- $261,648 to Georgian Heights, in Owen Sound
- $200,592 to Mapleview, in Owen Sound
- $305,256 to Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home, in Lion’s Head
- $183,156 to Elgin Abbey Nursing Home, in Chesley
- $279,084 to Hanover Care Centre
MPP Walker says of the funding increase that it will allow homes in our community to hire and retain more staff so they can provide more care to residents every day.
