New Project Aims to Support Newcomers in Huron-Perth

Volunteers with Lived Experiences of Immigrating to Canada and having settled in Huron, Perth, Lambton and Middlesex Counties urged to volunteer.

A new Huron-Perth joint project is seeking volunteers to assist new residents to Canada. The volunteers will mentor the new Canadians and temporary foreign workers as they settle in rural communities in the region.

Volunteers will first take part in an online webinar training series where they will learn to build connections, offer appropriate support and develops tools to become agents of change.

Following the training volunteers will be invited to join a peer support pilot program assisting new residents to Canada.

People who have lived experiencing immigrating to Canada, and have settled in Huron, Perth, Lambton or Middlesex Counties are urged to volunteer.
