The Nuclear Innovation Institute in Port Elgin has just seen 24 high school students complete their NII Energy Co-Op. The students spent a term full of hands-on learning and skill development.

The program is in it’s second year and aims to ignite excitement for future clean energy careers and opening with students in Bruce and Grey Counties.

The program is 17-weeks and sees a student placed with an employer, and during that time explores nearly 20 different careers across the sector from construction and welding to emergency management and robotocs.

The 49 students so far have spent over 10,000 hours with over 20 industry partners and NII is anticipating the already full-upcoming term which begins this month.

For any questions about the co-op you can email info@nii.ca.
