The deadline to file nominations for this fall’s municipal elections is this Friday.
All candidates looking to run for mayor, deputy mayor, councillor or school board positions in their community must file their nomination papers by 2 p.m. that afternoon. Applications require at least 25 signatures of support, as well as a filing fee.
In Kincardine, three candidates have filed for mayor. In Saugeen Shores just incumbent Luke Charbonneau has filed, while in Goderich, the late mayor John Grace is the only candidate declared for the office.
