Northumberland OPP Officer Killed in the Line of Duty

Sergeant Brandon Malcolm, a member of the Northumberland OPP detachment was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash.

On April 27th just after 5:30pm, officers were called to a report of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Highway 401 with an officer being pronounced deceased at the scene.

Malcolm joined the OPP in June 2020, serving entirely with the Northumberland Detachment.

OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique says Malcolm was an accomplished member of the Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team and served his community with dedication, duty and honour.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remains under investgation.
