A Hamilton resident is facing charges after an officer was hit during a traffic stop.
On November 5th at around 8:44pm, police were conducting a traffic stop on Highway 26 near Algonquin Drive in Meaford.
While an officer was dealing with the driver of a vehicle who was pulled over, an eastbound vehicle clipped the officer with its passenger side mirror and failed to stop.
The officer suffered minor injuries with the driver later identified.
The 70 year old Hamilton was charged with Failure to Report an Accident, Failure to Remain, Careless Driving and Failure to Slow Down and Proceed with Caution for an Emergency Vehicle.
