Officer Narrowly Escapes Serious Injury at Incident in Goderich Mini-Mall Parking Lot

Accused was Found Failing to Abide by Release Condition and Accused’s Partner Interfered and Reversed Vehicle in Dangerous Manner into Officer.

A Huron County OPP officers was assaulted and narrowly escaped serious injuries following incident in Goderich earlier this week.

On Wednesday at approximately 1:15pm officers responded to a mini mall parking lot on Victoria Street North to check on the condition of a driver parked at the lot.

After learning the driver was failing to abide by the condition of his release, the accused’s partner interfered and reverse the vehicle in a dangerous manner into the officer.

The officer was able to jump out of the way and escape serious injury.

The accused a 52 year old male of Lucknow has been charged with failure to comply with an undertaking.

A 47 year old woman also of Lucknow has been charged with obstructing and resisting a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and assault.

Both have been released from custody with future dates in a Goderich court.
