One person has been arrested in connection to counterfeit currency being circulating around Meaford.
On June 21st at around 12:15pm, officers on bike patrol spotted a man known to police riding a bicycle on the sidewalk on Nelson Street West.
When officers tried to talk with the man, he fled on foot but was found in a wooded area and taken into custody.
Police also seized an air pistol from the man.
The 34 year old of Meaford has been charged with three counts of Possessing Counterfeit Money, Assaulting an Officer with a Weapon, Obstructing a Peace Officer and Possession of an Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
The accused appeared in Owen Sound court on Tuesday.
