One person is dead after a canoe capsized on Lake Huron.
Lambton County OPP, Kettle and Stoney Point Fire Department, Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services, Canadian and US Coast Guards, Lambton County paramedics, and members of the community came to the aid of two canoeists found to be in distress out on the water near Ipperwash Beach Tuesday morning around 11.
Both were pulled from the water and taken to hospital.
One was pronounced dead, the other is in serious but stable condition.
Investigators are in the process of contacting the victim’s next-of-kin before releasing the identities.
They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
