The Ontario Business Improvement Area Association have renamed an award in honour of the late Jan Hawley.
The Pinnacle Award, given to those who are accomplished leaders and have proven to conduct themselves as a member of the community whose focus is to improve their communities, will now be called the Jan Hawley Memorial Pinnacle Award.
Hawley was the former Economic Development Officer for the Municipality of Huron East, and was the first recipient of the Pinnacle Award in 2019.
She passed away in March at the age of 69.
The first Jan Hawley Memorial Pinnacle Award was handed out during the OBIAA awards this week.
