The Province announced today through their Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore that they will be expanding the Covid-19 Vaccine 3rd Dose Booster program to those 50 years and older.

The change is set to come into effect Monday, December 13th and will mean anyone who has received 2 doses are able to get a 3rd booster shot a minimum of 6 months after the second.

Effective immediately those receiving dialysis are eligible to receive their 3rd booster dose of vaccine.

Then starting in January Ontario is further expanding eligibility for a 3rd dose based on age risk with an interval of 6 to 8 months from their second dose.

Revaccination is also being recommended for anyone receiving transplant therapy.

In combination with this announcement they also announced that they will be offering the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine as of today to those 18 years and older. You can request it at time of booking your vaccine appointment.
