Ontario expands list of ailments able to be treated at Local Pharmacies

People are able to visit a pharmacy to receive prescriptions for acne, cancer sores, diaper rash, yeast infections, parasitic worms, and nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.

The Provincial Government has expanded the list of ailments and medications that pharmacists are able to treat and prescribe for in Ontario.

The 6 added over the weekend are being added to the 13 common ailments they have been able been prescribing for since January 1st of this year.

Starting October 1st people are able to visit a local pharmacy to receive prescriptions for acne, cancer sores, diaper rash, yeast infections, parasitic worms, and nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.

Since the start of the year 89 percent of Ontario’s pharmacies have been treating common ailments, providing over 400,000 assessments.
