Ontario MPP Steve Clark resigned from his post of Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing on Sunday.

In his letter to the Premier he says always tried to fulfill the mandate of getting more homes built so that people across Ontario could realize the dream of finding a place to live, work and raise a family.

He says his presence will only cause a further distraction from the important work that needs to be done and he takes accountability for what has transpired.

He advises he will continue to serve his constituents as MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.

In related news Premier Doug Ford announced changes to his Cabinet due to the departure.

Paul Calandra has been named Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing.

He will remain House Leader.

Prabmeet Sarkaria will become Minister of Transportation, and Caroline Mulroney will become President of the Treasury Board.

Associate Ministers have been named as Rob Flack for Housing, Todd McCarthy for Transportation and Nina Tangri for Small Business.

Andrea Khanjin has received an expanded role and will now be Deputy Government House Leader.
