OPP Charge 35 Year Old Over Weekend Disturbance

Grey-Bruce OPP have charged a 35 year old man who assaulted police during a disturbance over the weekend.

OPP responded to an address on Boyd Street in Wiarton on Saturday where it was determined two individuals engaged in a dispute at a residence on the property.

The disagreement led to a physical altercation with the victim being assaulted. The suspect was arrested who at the time of the arrest also assaulted an officer. No injuries were reported in the incident.

As a result a 35 year old from South Bruce Peninsula has been charged with;

  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Mischief under $5000 X2
  • Possession of a schedule III substance
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Fail to comply with probation order

 The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
