OPP held National Police Dog Competition recently in Barrie

The Ontario Provincial Police held their National Police Dog Competition public day recently at Sadlon Arena in Barrie.

It marked the first time it has ever happened in Ontario.

The event brought in several thousand people and featured police canine teams from across Canada to show off their skills in various competitions including fastest dog with a speed reader showing the incredible pace of each dog, agility with handlers and dogs navigating a series of obstacles and obedience with discipline being showcased with immediate response to commands.

Nearly 40 canine teams took part in the 5-day championship.
