Huron County OPP, along with members of the Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team are currently on the scene of an assault at a residence on Main Street in Zurich.
Officers were called to the scene just before 8 am this morning after the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The assailant fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
Residents of the area can expect an increased police presence in the area and are reminded to secure their property and be aware of their personal safety.
