OPP Patrolling Waters Inspecting Vessels Over the Summer

South Bruce OPP’s marine unit will be out on the waters this summer who have already kept busy since the long weekend.

On May 25th South Bruce OPP inspected vessels on Lake Huron finding all had proper safety equipment on board with no alcohol or other intoxicants.

On May 26th at the mouth of the Saugeen River the OPP marine unit encountered two kayakers who were found to not have all required safety equipment on board with one person charged with Operating Human Powered Pleasure Craft without Prescribed Vessel Safety and Navigation Equipment on Board.

South Bruce OPP say to always have life jackets on board, check and monitor the Marine Weather Forecast have a sail plan, leave your beers on the pier and have enough fuel in the tank
