South Bruce Peninsula has appointed Paul Deacon to fill the a vacant seat in council.
A special meeting was held on Wednesday where 11 applicants pitched their hopes to fill the seat.
Council voted by ballot to determine who would get the spot with a few rounds of voting which eventually ended when Councilor Kathy Durst switched her vote to Paul Deacon and he was sworn into office.
A resident of Wiarton since 1995 and a seasoned businessman,
Deacon brings in a wealth of experience to the table for council.
