Around 75 people were outside the Kincardine municipal office to show their support for municipal staff and to call for respect and decorum in Council.

People were seen holding signs in front of the front entrance around 4 Monday afternoon about an hour prior to the start of the Planning and Committee of the Whole meetings.

Organizer Meagan Fair says it is great to see so many people come out to show Council that a lack of respect will not be tolerated.

There was an ovation when Councillor Laura Haight arrived for the meetings.

They are also showing support for Haight who was the subject of a vulgar comment made by Councillor Dave Cuyler who was also in-person at the meeting.

The Municipality’s Integrity Commissioner is investigating the matter.
