The Huron County OPP are investigating three recent scams that took advantage of Huron County residents while using local ATM machines at local banks.
Police determined that on January 18th at least 3 separate incidents took place at 2 banks in Exeter and 1 in the Town of Goderich.
In both Exter incidents victims were assisted by an unknown person who appeared to be trying to help the victims.
Real bank cards were swapped with fake ones during the interactions. The suspect stole money from their accounts after obtaining their PIN numbers.
The two people, aged 64 and 67, lost between $900 and $1,400 dollars.
In Goderich a 95-year-old victim lost $1,500 in cash and $2,000 in illegal purchases after their card was stolen.
Police are still investigating the frauds and ask anyone to come forward if they have information.
