The Grey Bruce OPP will be actively participating in the provincial Motorized Snowmobile Safety Week this week from February 10th to February 17th.
The initiative aims to promote public awareness and encourage safe driving practices among motorized snow mobile vehicle operators.
In additional to general safety, officers will be focused on addressing the Big 4 factors contributing to snowmobile-related injuries and fatalities, including aggressive driving, distracted driving, and the improper use of safety equipment on highways, trails and waterways.
The Grey Bruce OPP urge snowmobilers to adhere to following key safety guidelines this season including driving sober, staying on designated trails, be cautious on frozen waterways, wearing protective gear, carrying a safety kit and observing speed limits.
