With the help of a $100 million investment from the province, over 32,000 personal support workers and nurses will help get training.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Long Term Care Stan Cho while at Spruce Lodge in Stratford.
Cho says this funding will help build a program to support future talent and give students more hands on clinical training.
Minister Cho adds the addition of hands on learning is a win-win for students and seniors in care.
“Living Classrooms are used to delivering classroom instruction in the home. Alternating between in class learning and applying what they learned as they work with residents in the home and you can see what value that can provide not only to residents but in the training process.” said Cho.
The funding will go for both the Preceptor Resource and Education Program for Long Term Care and Living Classrooms both which provide on the job training over the next three years.
