Bruce and Grey County’s are getting a boost of over $4.2 million to connect over 9000 patients to primary care.

Funding is coming off the province’s Primary Care Action Plan which will be given to multiple family health teams including Hanover Family Health Team, Kincardine Family Health Team, Noongwa Gamig Incorporated, Owen Sound Family Health Team, Peninsula Family Health Team, and Southeast Grey Community Health Centre.

The funding aims to add 17.8 interdisciplinary healthcare professionals across the health teams and in the communities of Grey Highlands, Meaford, Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, South Bruce Peninsula, and the Town of the Blue Mountains.

MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson says ensuring every resident in Bruce and Grey County’s has access to a primary care provider is essential to building a stronger, healthier Ontario.
