Province replaces closed ER in Minden with Urgent Care Clinic with No Doctors

It will be staffed by Nurse Practitioners & Registered Practical Nurses who will provide care for unexpected but not life-threatening injuries. Those will be handled 25 minutes away at nearest hospital.

In a sign of what the future may hold for small town healthcare in Ontario the Province is providing funding to the Kawartha North Family Health team to open an Urgent Care Clinic at the former Minden Emergency Department site.

That ER closed on June 1st. The new clinic opens June 30th and is set to provide routine & urgent care to people in the community but will not have any doctors on-site.

It will be staffed by Nurse Practitioners and Registered Practical Nurses who will provide care for unexpected but not life-threatening injuries.

Those will be handled 25 minutes away at the nearest hospital.
