Grey Bruce Public Health is promoting water safety as National Drowning Prevention Week continues.
Given the amount of lakes, rivers, bays and beaches, Grey-Bruce is a popular place to swim, boat, fish and raft and given the access to water public health says its important people need to be aware of drowning risks and how to stay safe in and around water.
Public health says its best to learn to swim and swim with a friend, ensure children are under supervision of an adult when around water, know your limits and abilities and when out on a boat to wear a properly fitted life jacket.
