Huron Perth Public Health announced that parents will be able to book a COVID vaccination appointment for children six months to under five years of age starting next Thursday, July 28.

Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health for the region says she is pleased to have a vaccine available for the youngest age group, noting that though most children who contract COVID-19 suffer a mild illness, some can become very sick and need hospitalization.

The Health Unit will hold vaccine clinics specifically for children in that age range beginning Friday, July 29.

Clinics are by appointment only. Find the link to dates and locations at www.hpph.ca/GetVaccinated.

The Health Unit recommends parents/caregivers bring something along to help their child relax during their appointment, such as a favourite stuffy, a toy, or headphones and music.
