Huron-Perth Public Health is encouraging residents to take precautions to reduce the risk of measles.
Cases of the disease have been on the rise globally including in Ontario as one of the most highly contagious infectious diseases which can spread through coughing, sneezing and it can live up to two hours in the air or on the surface.
Huron-Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says vaccination against measles is safe and effective at preventing the virus, encouraging everyone to consider the vaccine to reduce their risk for measles.
